Safety
Meet people. Make plans. Stay safe.
XP is designed to help people turn online connections into real-world experiences. Your safety matters before, during and after you meet someone.
Getting to know someone
Take your time. Chat before meeting, trust your instincts, and don't feel pressured to share more or move faster than you're comfortable with.
Meeting in public
For first meetings, choose busy, public places — a restaurant, class or event — and stay in public spaces until you know someone better.
Tell someone your plans
Let a friend or family member know who you're meeting, where you're going and when you expect to be back.
Transportation
Arrange your own way to and from the plan so you can leave whenever you want. Avoid relying on someone you've just met for a ride.
Personal information
Be careful sharing your home address, workplace, financial details or other sensitive information. Never send money to someone you haven't met.
Reporting concerns
If something feels wrong, leave and get somewhere safe. In an emergency, contact local emergency services (911 in the U.S.). You can also reach us through our Contact page.
